NEW SALES DIRECTOR for dataplex

Manchester and Oxfordshire-based IT company, dataplex is expanding and has appointed a new sales director.

Louise Saleri, from Wakefield, Yorkshire, has joined the team to help mastermind the growing sales team.

Saleri, who was regional sales director at BT Engage, joined the IT industry through her love of horses.

She explained: “I started working for a company making jodhpurs and was asked to help development an app for selling equestrian products. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to switch to working in IT and kept the horses as a hobby.”

Saleri worked for a small IT company in the Midlands where she was involved in all areas of product development. “We were just a small outfit and it meant I had to learn quickly. I did everything from getting involved in manufacturing and ordering, to customer service and boardroom demonstrations.”

Saleri then joined Lynx where unsurprisingly for an animal lover, her first accounts were with animal charities. “I’ve always passionately believed that IT has enormous potential to improve people’s lives, so I began by looking after housing associations and charities. I was thrilled when my first clients were the RSPCA and the Cats’ Protection League. They were only small accounts to begin with but I was enormously proud of securing that business.”

The company eventually became BT Engage, and Saleri rose through the ranks from account manager to regional sales director.

At dataplex, the UK’s leading independent ICT company working in business, industry and the public sector, Saleri will be heading up the sales teams in the company’s offices in Eccles, Manchester and Witney, Oxfordshire.

Saleri said: “I’ve admired the way dataplex work for a while and I’m delighted to be part of such a successful company. We have some extremely creative and talented people working here with a great sense of team work. Team work has always been at the heart of how I operate and I’m looking forward to helping the team reach its full potential.

We’re also good people to work with. We are leaders in our field but we’re also a fun bunch of people with a good sense of humour.”

Away from the office, Saleri remains a keen horsewoman. She has three dressage horses in training and is enthusiastic about their potential too. “It’s a great sport and getting out with the horses is excellent for switching off and relaxing. I like to dream that one day, one of my horses could represent Team GB at a future Olympics,” she said. Saleri is also training to become an official British Dressage judge and has ridden 75 miles around Cotopaxi in Ecuador, one of the world’s highest active volcanoes.
